Can I get certified with NL if I'm not a therapist?Updated 3 years ago
There are many ways to provide Equine Assisted Services. NL recently published a great blog that has some answers about this topic. You can find the blog here.
I find this diagram to also be very helpful to understand how one might engage in Equine Assisted Services.
So, whether you need a Masters, Counseling degree, or Coaching certification depends on how you want to facilitate in EAS. As a licensed therapist you are able to facilitate in TI-EAT or TI-EAP, or as a certified life coach you can do TI-EAL. As an Equine Professional you can co-facilitate with a licensed therapist or do TI-EAL.
I hope that brings some clarity as you consider how you want to move forward. We are glad to have you learning and/or certifying with the NL model whatever you decide!
